Hello Friends, I would like to share some thoughts with you about the relationship between your Fridge and your Health.

In this journey of weight loss, It is important to be mindful of the foods you are buying for your family. I believe in eating fresh and cooking with fresh ingredients; this habit helps your family eat healthier. I’m sure you have looked at the ingredients of some of the foods you are buying at the grocery store and all the chemicals and additives with that in mind let’s dive deeper into this subject.

The Power of Fresh Eating:

  1. You can keep track of what your family is going to eat and the portion size
  2. Involving your children in the food prep can teach them good habits, and they might enjoy learning how to cook for themselves. I believe we all should learn to cook.

Home cooking is where it’s at. It’s the best way to keep track of the portion size and ingredients when preparing your meals.

Having been raised in the restaurant industry, I have worked in many kitchens and dining rooms for 25-plus years. I have experienced many different types of cuisine, and you cannot beat a home-cooked meal.

Portion Control for Health

Portion size matters for example chicken breast should be 6-8 oz

Steak should 10-14 oz

When you follow a diet they recommend protein size not be more than 6-8 oz

So when you go to the store look for the smaller portions of proteins.

The Benefits of Fresh Eating:http://www.cdc.gov

  • May help you live longer.
  • Keeps skin, teeth, and eyes healthy.
  • Supports muscles.
  • Boosts immunity.
  • Strengthens bones.
  • lowers the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers.
  • Supports healthy pregnancies and breastfeeding.
  • Helps the digestive system function.

Restaurants offer larger portions so they can charge you more. What I have noticed is that we have gotten used to the restaurant portion size, which has influenced our eating habits, and we are eating more, which contributes to weight gain. Being mindful of cooking for the family will help make your trip to the supermarket more beneficial for you to stay on track with your diet.
